It was brand new and in the original box. It's o.k.,and It looks exactly the same as our original Grohe Relaxa Top 4 head, but because they tried to make it seem like it has more features, they added one or two different spray patterns, which some people may like, but we don't care for the kind that blast you like you're getting a massage. The trouble is, in order to add these extra patterns, they had to take away many of the normal spray nozzles that the original unit had in the middle of the head, so the end result is that the spray feels hollow in the middle compared to the earlier model. It's o.k., but we prefer the original spray pattern, but Grohe considered it an advancement, just to please the new young crowd that like a lot of gee wizz features. I just want a normal spray pattern, but it's o.k,The shower head fits great as a replacement for the same model (worn out). It is unfortunate that the Grohe company wasn't more accommodating on a very specific replacement washer for the existing head. $1 washer vs. $120 shower head.My old one that was about 15 years old broke. I loved it and hoped I could find a replacement.. I did at wonderful Amazon and the new one is loved just as much as the originallove this... i had been looking for a replacement for a while... found this one and it is perfect.Replaced an older model with this new one. excellent pressure now and the price was almost half of quote from retail bath showroomSUPER!
