I got this to replace a similar shower system. I chose it because it has an option to shut off the water at the shower head without losing the temperature I set at the faucet. This will save a lot of water (and electricity-guzzling pump cycles) since it takes me a fairly long time to soap up. To my pleasant surprise, the new shower head is bigger than my old one, too! I also like the looks of this one. My old one was a basic off-white, all-plastic jobbie and it looked cheap. The matte black is a serious improvement in terms of appearance.Installation was a snap. This is partly because my prior one seems to have been installed just before I got this house, so it hadn't become fused to the pipe. Removing it and putting this in its place was therefore just a matter of unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one on.The water pressure isn't "high pressure," but that's fine with me. I'm not looking to get blasted by my shower. Enough pressure comes out to do the job just fine. Remember that with this, you bring the shower head near the part that needs to be rinsed, so it doesn't take as much power to be effective as it would if it was a standard, stuck-on-the-wall, style.I do wish the hose was about 1.5 feet longer. Then, I could hang the head in the slot that's in my shower chair. As it is, it doesn't quite reach that spot.The connection part is made of plastic. I forgot all about the claim that it wasn't, so I wasn't immediately disappointed in that. It's what I expected, actually, and was pleasantly surprised that the hose is clad in flexible metal. That hose seems to have another hose inside it, and I expect that the inner hose is what actually keeps the water in.There were no obvious defects in mine, and it came with a sheet of simple instructions and a spare washer.I have no idea how long this will last. For now, it seems built well enough to stand up to some use. Even so, I saved my old one just in case.This installed very easily and included everything you'll need but the crescent wrench. Most of the materials used to make this are plastic but you wouldn't know it until you touch it. The main piece that connects to the water is metal but everything else is plastic. It works terrific and all the features are working I'm just not going to be surprised if it dies sooner than later. This installs in about 5 minutes. Use a crescent wrench on the nut that screws to the water main. There is a slight indent on the nut that allows you to use a wrench. If you use pliers you will scratch the black nut. All of the other connectors need to just be hand tightened. This shower head meets California water flow restrictions.While connecting the hose to the coupler, ive mistakenly didn’t align it and I’ve noticed that the threads broke or I’m not sure what’s called(pls check pic). But the thread on the male connector, broke. Luckily i still managed to connect it afterwards.The worse thing is the water pressure is not strong. Reason I’ve got this is my shower set is new and its black.My old chrome showerhead has better water pressure!! I have no idea that this could happen(low pressure). There’s no water leak or anything.Price of $49.99 is way too expensive for this plastic garbage.
